We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as a Junior Systems Engineer II. The position will be supported from Colorado Springs, CO.

This position is contingent on Prime Contractor selection.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate Satellite Control Network (SCN) capability and crisis readiness
  • Develop plans for necessary crisis response improvements and actions
  • Develop and coordinate the SCN Continuity of Operations (COOP) Response Plan and Playbook
  • Develop, evolve, and maintain a crisis management handbook (process and instructions)
  • Analyze threats for potential crisis event impacts that could impact the SCN now and in the future
  • Create management processes involving prevention techniques, work stoppage, preparedness, response and recovery activities, and working with stakeholders to ensure continuity of operations
  • Participate in technical meetings and government-led studies to assess customer requirements
  • Additional duties as assigned 

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5-9 years’ experience in general engineering, crisis and systems analysis
  • 3 years’ specialized experience analyzing system problems, generating COOP response plans, assessing crisis readiness, defining potential solutions, and conducting in-depth technical analysis, assessments/trades and explain results of technical studies in a systems engineering context

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge and background with architecture, systems and subsystem requirements, systems engineering processes, and development and maintenance of CONOPS
  • Familiarity with Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN)/SCN operations and modernization programs
  • Experience in crisis management and mitigation
  • Experience in designing and/or adopting and deploying threat, incident, risk and crisis management frameworks
  • Experience in creating and developing operational response documentation and processes for incidents and crisis events
  • Demonstrates understanding of performance and requirements analysis techniques, and acceptance testing strategies/methodologies
  • Strong computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office products (especially Project), and the ability to learn and use new software programs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook) 

Education:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university in engineering, information technology, science, business, or other related area of study.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $70,000-$90,000; however, USfalcon considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities as well as a candidate’s work experience, knowledge, skills, education and training.
