We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as an Intelligent Teaming Test and Evaluation Engineer to work out of Fort Eustis, VA. This role supports the operation and modification of experimental or highly instrumented test aircraft, including Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Specialty in Comms/Networks.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute live/virtual testing of UAS, hardware components, and autonomy software.

  • Develop and analyze communication network architectures and requirements to integrate multiple target technologies for evaluation in experimental scenarios in multi-aircraft simulation and flight tests.

  • Manage interfaces and integrate developmental technologies into UAS and experimental networks for testing and exercise participation.

  • Additional duties as assigned 

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of  5 years of work experience with at least 3 years flight testing for aviation systems and 1 year in simulation.
  • 2 years of work experience with network architecture definition and integration to enable interoperability between different communication protocols in LVC simulations or flight testing.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience planning and executing live/virtual testing of UAS.
  • Experience integrating and test development aviation technologies and prototype systems.
  • Experience defining and using military networks.
  • Experience with use of STANAG-4586 standard and DDS protocol
  • Journeyman level experience conducting flight testing for aviation systems (threshold), UAS (objective).
  • Knowledge of communications / networking critical to individual & teamed UAS operation, including both command/control and transfer of sensor/effects payload data.
  • Experience with network architecture definition and integration to enable interoperability between different communication protocols in simulations or flight testing.
  • Familiarity with Command and Control (C2) messaging sets, unmanned aircraft mission systems componentry & payloads, sensor & weapon systems, Modeling & Simulation, and military operations.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook) 

Education:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university
