    USfalcon, recognized as one of the fastest growing, privately held companies in the United States, is seeking a UAV-UAS Mechanic/Sheet Metal Fabricator to work out of Moffett Field, CA.

    Responsibilities

    • CONUS/OCONUS travel may be required
    • Ensure completion and/or performing maintenance on UAV/UAS Category III aircraft.
    • Support NASA UAS program through direct relationship with NASA engineers and program staff to design, construct, and test fixed-wing US platform.
    • Collaborate with engineering staff to facilitate work order implementation to modify aircraft and associated systems for research testing.
    • Remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.
    • Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems.
    • Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks.
    • Perform scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections.
    • Perform limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required.
    • Use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools, and aircraft ground support equipment.
    • Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance.
    • Perform air crewmember duties.
    • Travel as required supporting UAS operations for NASA science missions worldwide.
    • Maintain NASA required NAMIS digital logbook and record keeping system.
    • Inspect, service, and repair Category III aircraft.
    • Responsible for supervising and performing maintenance on aircraft structures.
    • Repair and replace aircraft structural components to include stringers, longerons, bulkheads, beams, and aircraft skin according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals, and safety procedures.
    • Fabricate structural parts, forming blocks and shapes metal using stretching, shrinking, and other metal forming techniques.
    • Mix and apply fiberglass materials.
    • Make emergency and permanent repairs to transparent plastic windows and enclosures.
    • Use common measuring tools, precision measuring gauges, and alignment fixtures to perform structural repairs.
    • Balance fixed-wing aircraft controls such as flaps and ailerons.
    • Mix and apply primers and paints to aircraft surfaces.
    • Apply corrosion control treatment to aircraft metals.
    • Requisition and maintain shop and bench stock for repair of aircraft structures.
    • Maintain facilities for storage of flammable and hazardous materials.
    • Use and perform operator maintenance on common and special tools.
    • Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills:

    • A minimum of four (4) years of sheet metal related experience.
    • Formal military training of experience in manufacturing and repair of aircraft required.

     

    Desired Skills:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
