    USfalcon, Inc., recognized as one of the fastest growing, privately held companies in the United States, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Tanker Directorate at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.


    • Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications  
    • Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved in accordance with program specifications  
    • Prepare technical documents which define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics. Prepares management reports and conducts technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective action using application of engineering economy principles  
    • Perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures. Analyze and/or evaluate results of major engineering systems  
    • Provide system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives, including but not limited to: acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight.  
    • Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with AF SEAM processes  
    • Provide engineering support to conduct formal trade studies based on engineering performance, effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, life cycle cost, producibility, reliability, maintainability, risk, and schedule.  
    • Provide technical recommendation support services, including reviews, studies, audits, evaluations and analyses, scientific and procedural guidance, documentation, technical analysis, and support of associated engineering IPTs.  
    • Provide proposal analysis support services that compare and quantify proposed systems, components, approaches for technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost effectiveness  
    • Support the development and maintenance of critical systems engineering documentation (i.e., specifications, system requirements documents, systems engineering plans, etc.)
    • Support the translation of requirements into prime contractor documents (e.g., software development plans, sub-specifications, etc.) and procedures to ensure the robust application of systems engineering processes across all program development, production, and sustainment tasks
    • Understand and execute Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 62-6, USAF Airworthiness, through standardized processes and issuance of flight authorizations
    • Provide systems and subsystems engineering, technical guidance and support to design, develop, manufacture, integrate, test and deploy electronic sensors and defensive systems (e.g. Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures ‘LAIRCM’)
    • Define and maintain technical processes, identify technical requirements and support air system and avionics development in the areas of electronic combat systems, threat assessments, navigation, airborne fire control, radar, and electro-optical systems. Support and assist in reviews and studies to help define system requirements, performance capabilities, and interfaces with other system acquisition elements
    • Provide Avionics expertise (e.g. Interface Control Document (ICD), open system architecture, hardware, and software)
    • Assist in generating and managing Configuration Management, Data Management, and Risk Management processes and plans; support environmental assessments, support design reviews, technical interchange meetings, interface control meetings, program management reviews, audits and other technical reviews; and have thorough knowledge of Deficiency Reporting (DR) procedures and processes
    • Produce and/or review technical evaluations, engineering studies, reports, analyses, and acquisition plans and strategies
    • Assist in milestone preparation as well as engineering evaluation of OEM and subcontractor recommendations for operational and support issues such as: evaluations of Advance Change Study Notices, Engineering Change Proposals, Contractor Change Proposals, FAA Bulletins, and related documents
    • Apply Operational Safety Suitability & Effectiveness (OSS&E) and Airworthiness processes, as well as provide risk assessments, safety analysis and recommendations, and address high priority safety issues
    • Provide safety expertise to include compliance with MIL-STD 882, and risk packages
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of Reliability and Maintainability processes to ensure system requirements are defined and achieved
    • Identify aircraft certification requirements and assist in obtaining required certifications. Evaluate Spectrum Certification requirements, analyze equipment for applicability, and process documentation/requests to ensure system requirements are defined and Spectrum certification is achieved and maintained
    • Translate production and operational requirements into design, fabrication and testing objectives
    • Provide analysis and recommendations to systems suitability for installation, functionality and reliability of systems and readiness of existing manufacturing processes
    • Additional duties as assigned.


    Required Skills:


    • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant engineering experience

    Desired Skills:

    •  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
    • Demonstrated technical leadership experience in a relevant engineering discipline
    • Knowledge and experience with the application of DoD 5000.02, AFIs 63-101/63-131, and related systems engineering policy and guidance impacting fixed wing aircraft support
    • Knowledge of and experience with the development, procurement, sustainment and modification of aircraft systems, sub-systems, components and equipment with the ability to provide systems engineering expertise
    • Demonstrated system engineering expertise in systems design and integration, manufacturing, quality and industrial engineering, airworthiness and configuration and data management
    • Demonstrated expertise open system architecture, hardware, and software architectures—to include interface management (e.g., Interface Control Documents (ICD))
    • Understanding and experience with Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 62-6, USAF Airworthiness, through standardized processes and issuance of flight authorizations
    • Experience with military and Federal Aviation Administration airworthiness processes.

    Education: Bachelor's degree Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred), from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program


    Clearance: The ability to obtain Secret clearance
