    USfalcon Inc., is seeking a Senior HR Specialist to perform senior-level work in Position Classification by consulting and advising hiring managers, preparation of position descriptions and basic evaluation statements, and entering data into an automated system. This is a contract position in support of our client, the United States Secret Service in Washington, DC. This is an opportunity to work in an exciting and fast paced environment where you will leverage and grow your consulting skills.


    • Advise hiring managers and agency leadership on the impact of classification related decisions
    • Review and develop position descriptions for specific job functions, and conduct desk audits to validate correct use of position classifications
    • Work with managers on developing position descriptions, determining the proper title, assigning positions to the appropriate occupational groups, and determining the appropriate level based on the classification protocols and standards outlined by OPM (including new/vacant positions resulting from organizational changes)
    • Recommend corrective action and strategies to address any identified deficiencies.
    • Consistently exhibit the ability to efficiently execute and track all HR duties assigned in support of high recruitment goals
    • Research applicable laws to aid in the staffing needs
    • Provide 24-48 hour response time for customer service matters related to staffing requests
    • Provide required status reports on workload progress to team leads and Division Chiefs as requested Respond, research and prepare documents and follow processes required to complete all aspects of the hiring process such as: job opportunity announcements, qualification assessments, applying veteran’s preference, apply multiple hiring authorities, data input into HR systems, preparing merit promotion certificates etc.
    • Work includes the performance of routine clerical and document management responsibilities


    • 7-10 years working in or with federal government in HR; achieved senior level position classification work experience using various hiring authorities.
    • Experience shall include developing position descriptions, determining position classifications, managing classification appeals, conducting desk audits, and developing policy and standard operating procedures related to position classification management
    • Experience researching, interpreting and applying appropriate Federal laws, regulations, policies and guidelines related to position classification functions
    • Experience providing authoritative management advisory services, which includes researching, analyzing and evaluating the issues, determining applicable precedents, recommending innovative methods and strategies to resolve complex integrated human resources problems, and identifying the most effective approach
    • Experience drafting a variety of reports, letters, memoranda, position descriptions, position evaluation statements, and other correspondence on a full range of sensitive management issues
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments
    • High level of attention to detail
