    The Program Executive Officer (PEO) for Tankers is responsible for the planning and execution of all life cycle activities for the Air Force’s tanker fleet, to include development, test, production, fielding, and support of the KC-46 tanker system, as well as modification and support of the fielded KC-135 and KC-10 tanker systems operated by the Air Force and partner nations. The tasks below are integral to the execution and modernization of the total tanker fleet.


    • Provide acquisition program management support for all phases of the acquisition lifecycle commensurate with the Tanker Directorate portfolio
    • Support the development of requirements for program integration. Review, analyze, assess and participate in special studies.  Support the development of program requirements documentation and produce and/or review products for program office use.
    • Provide support for all aspects of program cost, schedule, and performance
    • Track appropriation and allocation of funds to ensure the efficient obligation and execution of funds and ensure costs and schedule activities are aligned and tracked to meet program goals.
    • Provide expertise to support meetings and provide rapid response acquisition surge support for a new start or other identified programs.  Assist in development of Request for Proposals and participate in Source Selection when appropriate.
    • Participate in the planning and supporting of technical interchange meetings, designs reviews, program management reviews, production and sustainment reviews and other meetings as required.
    • Organize and assist in managing critical aspects of the development, production, deployment, and sustainment of software capabilities on Acquisition Category programs within the Tanker Directorate portfolio
    • Track technical, schedule, and cost metrics and report status.  Draft and coordinate special studies annexes
    • Familiarity with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) policy and guidelines.  Experience with FAA Type Certifications and Airworthiness
    • Familiarity with FAA CFR Part 145, Part 42 and Part 121


    Required Skills20 years of management and supervisory experience in a DoD or private industry with 10 years of management and supervisory Acquisition experience in leadership management of complex DoD Acquisition Programs, or equivalent experience


    Desired Skills3 years of program management experience on an ACAT I level program, weapon system preferred


    Education: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a related discipline
