    The Program Executive Officer (PEO) for Tankers is responsible for the planning and execution of all life cycle activities for the Air Force’s tanker fleet, to include development, test, production, fielding, and support of the KC-46 tanker system, as well as modification and support of the fielded KC-135 and KC-10 tanker systems operated by the Air Force and partner nations. The tasks below are integral to the execution and modernization of the total tanker fleet.

    Responsibilities

    • This position will require CONUS travel.
    • Configure special purpose ground and flight test equipment used for data acquisition, display, reduction, analysis, and archiving.
    • Practical knowledge of aircraft electrical design, instrumentation, telemetry, and practices as well as flight test methods in support of rotorcraft and fixed wing aircraft data collection.
    • Implement data acquisition and monitoring controls for Pulse-Code Modulation, Aircraft Data Bus, Ethernet and IRIG-106 Standard hardware as well as other commercially available and developmental data streams.
    • Provides technical knowledge in data collection, instrumentation equipment, telemetry, and data bus types.
    • Shall accomplish Engineering tasks necessary to support management operations functions within the Tanker Directorate and apply expert knowledge and mastery of advanced engineering theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods to ensure assigned projects remain consistent with program objectives, costs, schedules, performance criteria, and existing policies.
    • Must have ability to function as as project manager
    • Evaluate systems test plans and participate in the conduct of system, subsystem and component level testing
    • Support translating user requirements into system requirements, which will be used to design, develop, fabricate, test and evaluate systems, subsystem and equipment for eventual fielding and deployment

    • Perform technical/mission analyses of existing and future operational requirements, assists in developing system concepts and perform technological/trade-off assessments of proposed designs/modifications.  Assist with developmental planning support in evaluation of the military mission to be accomplished and any related requirements documentation
    • Review and analyze proposals, including regulatory and other policy driver changes or proposed modifications for design feasibility and system compatibility.  Support and conduct systems analyses to include system design/design feasibility and state-of- the-art assessment
    • Assist Contracting by performing technical evaluations of contractor proposal submissions prior to placing Engineering Changes on contract
    • As required, assist, review, and provide recommendations for AFIs and other policy documents.  Support Integrated Product Team (IPT) activities to redesign, fabricate, and test obsolete components for long-term program risk reduction

    Qualifications

    Required Skills:

    • 10 years of experience in performing relevant operational functions with extensive knowledge and experience in schedule and performance/technical aspects of current, future, and interrelated programs
    • 10 years of management and supervisory experience in a DoD or private industry with 10 years of management and supervisory Acquisition experience in leadership management of complex DoD Acquisition Programs, or equivalent experience
    • Additional 10 years of experience can be substituted with Master's Degree
    • Additional 20 years of experience can be substituted with Bachelor's Degree 

    Education:

    • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer/Software Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution in a related discipline 
    • A Bachelor's degree in aforementioned degrees from an accredited institution
